amkulic
Hey mate, Im not too sure about Manly, but there are nippers at some of the smaller beaches in and around Sydney Harbour such as in Mosman. Ive found some by looking at low tide and seeing birds feeding on them and obviously the holes. If you want this spot in Mosman drop me a pm and i'll let you know Cheers
bjneville
I got a sneaky suspicion it's illegal to gather bait anywhere from the harbour foreshore
TobyW
I got a sneaky suspicion it's illegal to gather bait anywhere from the harbour foreshore First Ive heard about it, but is that what they are saying here?: http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fisheries/closur.../sydney-harbour Schedule 18 Shellfish closure - Port Jackson and tributaries All methods The whole of the tidal waters of Port Jackson and its tributaries, upstream of a line drawn from the northern extremity of South Head, to the southern extremity of North Head. Conditions: This closure will only apply to the taking of all kinds of shellfish.
bjneville
Here's the reference from DPI: http://www.fisheries.nsw.gov.au/marine_pro...ney_harbour.htm Sydney Harbour Intertidal Protected Area The whole of the foreshores of Sydney Harbour, including the Parramatta and Lane Cove rivers is an IPA and collecting intertidal animals is prohibited (excluding the foreshores of North Harbour, from Manly Point around to the western end of Forty Baskets Beach). Nippers live in that zone

davebrewer
The flats at Bayview around the sailing club are where I got mine when I lived at Dee Why-never found any where else( or needed to-they were very reliable).
