What bait should I choose? Does berley work? Most important... What rig should I choose? I know I will need a wire trace.. What should I look for in the cowan creek to choose a spot to fish for them? or should I just go by the maps and pick a nice bay? Any help at all so that i can get amongst all the action to land my first hairtail.. They are a nasty looking critter..........
Guest
Gdayyyyyyyyy , Pilchards on ganged hooks with a wire trace is mandatory. Berley definately helps and it gets the small baitfish to come around and attract the Hairtail. Great spots are Jerusalem Bay or Waratah Bay and Smiths Creek and Akuna Bay. Anywhere there is deep water more than 20 feet you will be in with a big chance of scoring some of these toothy critters. See you at the Social.
