Edward
Headed out on saturday arvo pumped sum nippers had no luck waiting till morning (after a soaking wet night) woke up and it was only a light drizzel so me and dad headed up smiths creek. once we were up a fair up dodging logs it start to absolutely piss down. we decide to stand under a tree till the shower passed. next thing we hear is thunder (and of corse we were standing under the tallest tree not too smart) so we move to a smaller tree and crouch down with lightning and thunder all around us which was pretty scary. we decided to brave the rain and headed bak to the riviera for a nice warm drink and some fresh close. three words to describe the trip rain, cold, fishless. Guest bluecod
At the end of Smith's Creek - couple of sandflats with good drop-offs - beyond that, rocks and scrub.
Edward
i mean right up the creek past the sand flats past the mangroves then u see grass and those trees with string for leaves and the creek is only 2m wide at most and u hav to be super careful not to hit any logs. both times we hav been up we hav seen the tidal wave. (where outgoing meets incoming) not really a wave but the tide just suddenly changes direction. its pretty cool has anyone been right up the end in a canoe or something? next time theres a super high tide im going to try to see wats right up the end
Guest bluecod
Edward, Have a play with this site LINK and you can zoom in to anywhere you like - if you've got your screen resolution correct you can also load the aerial photos for the area you're searching. I think the site has a problem just now, but should be up this afternoon.
