brendong Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 A few of us are heading down to Jarvis Bay next weekend down rigging for some of their well known winter kings....any reports on whether the big specimens have shown up yet? Squid, slimey's and yakka's being the preferred livies of choice, but being first timers out of their, any tips on livey locations would also be welcomed. PS all kings caught will be returned to fight another day.
Jake Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Don't know anything about the areas but have you seen the Adventure Bound episode on kingies at Jarvis. That got me PUMPED! I'm jeleous.

VA911 Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 going back to the original question where are the bait grounds and what ramp do you use to fish in this area. I am also looking to head down over the next month or two and have a crack. Is it safe to fish the area in a 4.6 runabout? is it far from the ramps? cheers.

Another great ramp is the one at woolamia. id fish the point perp bommie with your downrigger and squid and or slimies. Let me know how you go as i am also planning a trip down to fish with a mate.
Robbielites Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 I just spent the weekend down there and didn't get a single hit from a King But there is plenty of other fishing to be done when the kings are slow. There is also tonnes of other wild life to keep you amused, Dolphins, Seals, Penguins, Rays, Eagles. The list goes on. Bait is every where, look for the places you would look at home and you will find it, try just inside point Perp for Yakkas. Robbie.
brendong Posted May 19, 2008 Author Posted May 19, 2008 Thanks for all the info Raiders..... How good is having a wealth knowledge at your finger tips? Fingers crossed for the weekend....
