Jake Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Hi Raiders, I was hoping if someone could tell me where there is a good strong hold of EP's around Sydney. PM me if it's sensitive info. I live on the nthn beaches, so Pittwater, Narrabeen Lake, Sydney Harbour spots would be best. Can fish land based or in my v-nose punt (with electric). The boat can go in pretty shallow, skinny water too. I've heard and seen one pic of an EP in narra lake and heard of a few being caught in sydney harbour but no real locations. I would love to get a few of these special fish on softies and would return them all to the water. Cheers
james1990 Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Not 100% sure it's true but i have heard of EP'S in the upper reaches of parra river. If your keen on making the trip iv also heard the upper reaches of the hawksbury hold them aswell. Someone else might be able to answer this but would the woronora river hold ep's? cheers james
GK510 Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Hey Plastic man, I've caught a couple in Narrabeen Lakes. Both of them were taken at the bridge near Woolies at night on hawkesbury prawns. I wasn't actually targeting them however. I have also seen a couple of other fishos hook onto an EP at the same spot. There was one night when both a mate and I jagged one each. One of which went 38cm. I wouldn't necessarily say its a strong hold, but I guess if you were there at the right time, you might get lucky. Cheers, Graham

Yeah i heard they like bridges and that a few had been caught under middle creek bridge in narra lake up the back. Would have thought the woolies bridge would be too loud and heavily fished for them but there you go. They must be used to it. Didn't also know that night time was a good bet for them. Maybe it's the lights around there at night that attract the prawns/shrimp which then attract the EP's. Interesting. Might have to throw a few resin head squidgy bugs around the woolies bridge one night. Thanks
GregL Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 In the Harbour they seem to move around a fair bit. I have caught them in Lane Cove river a few times under one of the ferry wharfs but very hit and miss. The other 2 areas I have hooked them in the harbour is in Rushcutters and Darling Harbour. The most consistant place I have found is under the marina near Apple tree in Cowan but the people in there don't like fisho's around it. Bit further I would chase them in the upper Hawkesbury River around the Colo and up. Cheers Greg
The Iceman Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Both the Worronora and the Georges hold good EPs The trick is finding them
