robeebee Posted May 26, 2008 Share Posted May 26, 2008 Got to Oatley Bay around 7ish and launched the little timber boat found a nice looking drift on the sounder in about 14 to 17 feet rigged up a turtleback on a 1/8th jighead and lets go fishing didn't take long for the action to start with both my Dad and myself landing 28 cm Bream released these as we felt we were in for a good day landed 4 bream in the first 20 minutes , this is good fun the fish were starting to get a bit bigger as the morning progressed , the keeper net was filling up Dad has a screaming fight on his 4 pound outfit and nets a 41 cm model had a few double hookups today which made netting some big Bream interesting, (but fun ) Dad got a nice Flathead as well that went close to 60 cm's probably dropped as many fish as we caught today as well as releasing about 6 Bream each got a couple of 38 cm flatties also returned to grow for next time we left them biting which was a great feeling if this keeps up we will need a bigger keeper net got back to the ramp and met fellow raiders Iceman and Still rockin nice to meet you guys tally for the day was 16 bream , 3 flatties ,couple of tailor and a whiting for me and 8 bream, 3 flatties , a few tailor and a flounder for Dad what a great days fishing Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I only live 5 minutes away. What a great catch. The brag mat covered with those bream looks fantastic. And that 41cm one is a real thumper! When you include all the throwbacks it was a sensational session alright. That 16 inch bream is a bon tassler, like the big winter bream your Dad would remember.
