jewgaffer Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Hi diver1 You could fish Swanea Bridge on the Sydney side for jewfish using beach rods. You turn left at the divided road which is used for parking at the shops and it's alongside the Pacific highway just before you cross the bridge. You can fish right near your car, but you need to cast fish baits or lures if you like out as far as you can back from the bridge pylon and allow for the current. The shallower water on the opposite side, alongside the bridge on the western side is one of the best spots in the area for flathead in the daytime and that would suit your lures better either by boat and fishing back towards shore and would also suit if you are fishing landbased. Being winter start whenever you like and see what part of the tide produces best. Cheers jewgaffer
diver1 Posted June 15, 2008 Author Posted June 15, 2008 thanks a heap 4 takeing the time out to give me that advice, i see u live at campeltown, i grew up at leumeah and my parents still live there and my 2 brothers as well, i live up the central coast on lake macquarie ,i do a lot of rock fishing 4 drummer and groper (love how hard they both go!) ive also got a 5 metre fibreglass runabout which we fish lake macquarie in, ive just started useing soft plastics and am enjoying gr8 sucess, im definetly going to give the swansea bridge thing a go as i would love nuthing more than catching my 1st jew! also been thinken bout towen me boat down and throwen it in the hawksbury after reading a lot of these articles it seems there is a LOT more chance of me catchen a jew down there than in lake macquarie. thanks again
