Garmin Gps72

had this garmin gps 72 hand held for a cple a months now, couldnt work it so its been sitten on the bench, sitten down to read the manual right thru n try work it out. any1 else got 1? r they any good?

its my 1st gps so ive got no idea, the manual ive got seems incredeibly hard to understand, im guna sit down and give it a good shot but. a mate who has had several different gps,s took it and put a heap of marks in it 4 me but he said everytime he turned it off and turned it on the next day all the marks were gone? maybe u could tell me how u put a mark in (your procedure) so i can try that and just see if that works. then ill know if mines stuffed or not. cheers

if it's that first startup make sure your outside so that sats light up and use your page and menu buttons to cycle .I sit inside and then add waypoints by using middle button for crosshairs to lat and long .Use your zoom out and in to quicken the ease of finding the spot,you will have added it to waypoints give it a name,info and it should be saved .I use a highway when set for a waypoint so i dont stray offcourse.Unless there's a headland in your way.It should also automatically save trails which usefull
