Hi Peter sorry to hear about the theft of your bag of your blackfish gear, At least they left the power tools. I'm hoping there will be an older member who may be able to help you out with the reel replacement with maybe a couple of older blackfish reels.

Keep your chin up mate, you don't deserve anything like having your van broken into.

Cheers

Sorry to hear about the theft Pete.its weird how sometimes you think that because your car is in your driveway these thugs still have the hide to take other peoples property.

Pete, try contacting Roberta for earlier today she was asking fellow raiders to help Ceph get some weed

for blackie fishing :074:

Look on the bright side mate ....it could have been alot worse.

Noooooo!!!!! :ranting2:

So sorry to hear that Peter!! I have a an Avon Royal you can have to kickstart your reels again (it was given to me & I haven't even used it ..... not being a big fan on centrepins & knowing you love yours!!) PM me your address & I'll shoot it down to you! Can't imagine a better home for it, to be honest!! :)

There are mongrels out there - My car was broken into twice & a brand new rod & reel with braid was taken & my yabby pump ..... altho I would have recognised the rod from a distance (I had modified it a bit) I never did see it again!

That is toooo horrible!!!! Maybe make sure your stuff is painted up a funny colour to make it easier to identify from a distance??

Funny thing - the other morning, I found my neighbours fishing bag on our front lawn & it only had some sinkers & small stuff in it ..... I know that normally he has his 2 penn reels in it! Took it down to him with thoughts of great sorrow ..... it seems he used it to transport some of his fish home the other day & left it hanging outside after rinsing it ..... he reckons a fox or dog got hold of it & took off with it!!!! Luckily his reels were at home still!

At least they left your rods!!! :) MONGRELS!!

Cheerio for now

thanks everyone for your posts

i still have my avon so alls good thanks for the offer roberta

they took my alvey 500 and shakespere blackie reels i use on the rocks, home made floats ect.

anyway went for a fish down narra lake 7 this morn to fish the incoming tide till9

first cast a 30cm model  lost another 2 the next fish hit like a train and kept taking line rod was being tested to its limits first time ive had to follow a blackie backwards and foward on the edge of the dropoff 5mins later netted him and thought i had a 50cm at first guess

ended up with 4 fish all 30cm the big feller weighed one and a half kilo and 45cms [a good fish for the lake]amazing how a good session fishing can take your mind off things

i feel a lot happier after catching the big blackie

thanks peter :1fishing1:

Hi Peter

So glad they didn't get your AVon ....... still amazed they didn't take the rod! Perhaps keep an eye out for a slightly used 500bc ..... altho mine (from memory) was only about $50 NEW up the coast!!! Just checked, still the same!

Getting into those thumpers today would have been salve on the wounds ..... bet the one that busted you off was closer to 50cm!! Gee they fight hard at that size, eh? Can you imagine me with mine (45cm) on the rocks! Took many attempts to get it to the net!

Well done - back to the shed to make some more floats, I guess ...... at least you will recognise those ones if you see them again!!! :1badmood:

CHeerio

stealing a mans fishing gear is as low as it gets. I hope these scum bags get a hook stuck in their backsides!

Mongrels. Shouldn't matter if every door was unlocked as thieving isn't right. Hope they get tetnus or poke their eye out with the tip.

I had some stuff "lost"and now mark all my gear even cheap stuff just on the off chance any of it ever gets recovered it would b so nice to convict someone for eing stupid enough to steal or handle someone elses property. Have taken digital photos after marking them as a photo works wonders as evidence and I wouldn't be able to remember exact spots etc.

I saw some custom rods recently that had serial numbers ( owners driv lic number) on them in a couple of places all epoxied over so that would make them more recognisable and harder to dispose of if they ever get knocked off . Trying to describe a rod in a police report is hard but easier with photos and markings.

Sucks and just shouldn't happen anyway. Hope they turn up.
