The Usual No Fish

Went out again last night in the rain. Fished the usual Wanda with presh pilchard. Oh what a surpise not even a bite, just like every other time. The Cronulla Jewfish population must giggle every time I go down the beach.

Perhaps try some different baits... if you caught your own livies that may help, or catch your own squid etc. you stand much more of a chance with the jews on these baits. I have never had all that much luck on whole pillies either...

hey nats,mate give the jew fishing away,try shark fishing, there are more off them

if you fish for sharks you may catch a jew as by catch

seriously they feed at around the same time and a big slab bait should do the trick

at least you will give the rod a good bend

Hey Nats,

I know how you feel mate. It was four years before my first jew from Wanda so just keep persevering. When you eventually crack one it will be so sweet.

Keep trying a variety of baits. We tried whole squid, pilchards and fresh tailor fillets and eventually the pilchard paid off.

I'm not sure if I can get down this Saturday but if I do it will be around 11:00pm. Hope to see you there.

I think the moon was full on Wednesday. This means no Jewies for a few days... if you believe in the moon stuff!!

G'day Jewexpert, I was fishing at walk way no 7. I saw two blokes come down about 7ish. They had head torches and glow tips on rods. Was that you and if so did you do any better than me?

Cephalopod, I saw a bloke catch a soapy last full moon so thought I would try too. In saying that I've tried all kinds of moons and seen them caught at all times aswell. Just not on the end of my line.

not a bad idea brickman, but my confidence is so low atm I can't even catch a bloody a tailor or salmon for bait. Plus I've been waisting alot of hrs trying for squid but can't get any of these either. I'm just totally out of form with the rod. I'd even go as far as to say I'd be happy to hook a clump of weed atm.
