glennmreid Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 I am coming up to Forster with my wife on Friday for 2 nights. I will also be bringing up my boat. To the locals up in that nice part of the world, how is the lake fishing? What fish can I expect to catch within the lake, breakwalls and off the beach?
arpie Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Hi Glenn I have mainly been chasing blackies in the lake on weed & cabbage (there are heaps!) Lots of nice bream around the leases on sps, (look for the broken down ones) but expect to lose a bit of tackle ..... where are you staying?? Chris, manager at the Caravan Park on the breakwall is a great fisho & has been getting into some top bream lately! Bring your winter woolies, it is pretty cold here just now! On the breakwall, I have heard of good jews, some drummer & blackies .... should be bream there too. Still some good flatties being caught in the lake. I watched 3 blokes in a tinny drift along the Tuncurry wharves, using small livies, & they ahd 15 flatties between them! Off the beaches, there are some terrific bream & tailor just now. Heard of a great flattie caught off One mile too. I usually prefer to fish Seven Mile (less people fish it & it usually has lots of gutters.) Haven't checked it out for a while tho. It has worms along most of it, especially towards Tiona end. The seas is very quiet today. Just hope the weather holds up for you! Nice blue skies & very little wind today! May get the yak out after lunch. Cheerio Roberta
