Lure'em Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Hey guys, I'm new here and I was just wondering if anyone knows how Narrabeen Lake has been fishing recently. I'd also like to hear of some of your biggest catches from the lake. Thanks,
arpie Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 to Fishraider! Narrabeen Lake is a top spot to fish!! Luderick59 caught a huge blackfish the other day!!! Do a search on 'Narrabeen Lake' or troll thru the Fishing Reports!!! I am from out of town, but plan to fish there when down in the next few weeks!! Cheerio Roberta
Lure'em Posted June 25, 2008 Author Posted June 25, 2008 Yea I have a few friends that have pulled big flatties from the lake. It's a preety reliable spot for a feed when the fish are biting!!
the1murph Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 hey mate i got busted of by a huge bream bout a month ago fishen on unweighted live nippers i got a look at him then screamed off at a million miles an hour and got me on the rocks while fishing 1lb this was near the entrance bridge. We also had an sp flick for a big 0! but i find its really hard to fish because every spot we fished toadies hammered are baits within a few secs only evr fished it once tho so they could be in season or something... i dunno Good Luck Jack
Lure'em Posted June 25, 2008 Author Posted June 25, 2008 Yea thats happened many times to me before. The biggest bream I've caught is 32cm up the far end of the lake on prawn. I was flicking a sp around when my rod in the holder when off. Great adrenaline rush!!
Rhino2099 Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 There is a photo of a 16.5kg Jewie at Narrabeen bait and tackle that was taken on a half pilchard right over the back of the lake near the academy. very very lucky is all I can say
Lure'em Posted June 25, 2008 Author Posted June 25, 2008 Yea I've seen that before and you would have to be reaaalllyyyyy lucky to get a fish that size in the lake. In the fishing report in the paper its talked about people catching small jews in canoes. Still.. even catching a jew in the lake would be amazing!!
luderick59 Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 few years ago i caught a 18 kg jew on tailor fillet opp jamison park in my dingey[see album] also caught a few on lures while spinning for flathead peter
Lure'em Posted June 26, 2008 Author Posted June 26, 2008 nice catch!! what type of lure where you using??
luderick59 Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 halco combats and yo-zuri deep diver in yellow and orange peter
Lure'em Posted June 26, 2008 Author Posted June 26, 2008 nice!! mostly when i use diving lures they get tangled in the weed which can get quite annoying sometimes up the far end near the academy there doesnt seem to be as much weed as further down
