Hello Fellow raiders....

Started going out to water with my mate who recently purchased a boat ( i was LB before that! and i was bidding on the boat for him on Ebay!! haha)..but the things has been pretty quite lately..spent numerous hours on Hawkesbury from around Brooklyn all the way to Patonga before the run in, run out etc to no avail :05:

Is it just us or the cold weather or the wrong place/s at the wrong times...?.. :1badmood:

so..whats biting these days and where?..

Any info would be greatly appriciated :)

Cheers..

I haven't been able to get out lately but from the posts there are some good fish (jew, hairtail, flathead, etc) being caught from the Hawkesbury. It's my old stomping ground and from experience I can at least say that it's a big and complex system. There are always good options somewhere but it really takes a heap of local and up to date local knowledge to do well consistently.

... that's why Jewgaffer always gets so many personal messages and requests for info in posts :biggrin2:

If you're willing to get cold... based on the current fishraider activity I'd give the hairtail a try.

Cheers, Slinky

Hey mate, I catch em at Bella Vista too not as big as 70cm, but some up to 3kg.. they're great fun on light line!!... I know of an Eastern European guy and an Asian guy who catches em there and eats em too.

In Asia and Europe, carp are actually farmed for food.

Having said that, I don't think Asians really love carp... Actually, I don't think I've ever even eaten one before!
