humesy Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 G'day again, I recently had a mega tangle and lost a lot of braid off my baitrunner. I have some more line on its original spool. To top up my reel, what knot should I use to join the old and the new line. I know it can be done as the fellow in the tackle shop did it for me once but I never asked how to do it for myself. Thanks in advance, Humesy
slinkymalinky Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 G'day mate... I always just use a double uni to top shot my braid. On really light braid I sometimes tie a double in each end then tie a double uni between the 2 loops. Cheers, Slinky
dogtooth Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 I would second that . Double uni is the way to go . Cheers dogtooth . John.
bluefin Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 http://www.fishingcairns.com.au/page6-1.html Try this. I use a blood knot with 10 to 12 turns, more on 2kg less on 40 kg. I also lock it, when you put the line back through the centre, put it back through the loop you just created. Howard.
