slinkymalinky Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 At last... a day on the real water. Had a beautiful morning on and outside Sydney Harbour & Middle Harbour with Little Slinky and a non-raider occasional fisho mate of mine. We didn't connect with anything of notable size but had a constant parade of small fish coming over the side caught mostly on plastic. I got my first Flattie on 2lb leader (how's that for silly)... Only a junior size like all the rest today at 38cm and I can't believe I wasn't rubbed off but I pinned him with a 3" Gulp Swimming Mullet right in the corner of the mouth. Little Slinky got a Sargent Baker on a soft plastic... her biggest fish on lures so far, and while it's not usually a welcome catch it made for a beautiful photo. We set out this morning to catch some snapper on plastic. We piked out of running up to Long Reef as the wind started to pick up when we got to Bluefish Point early but each of us managed to get a couple of little ones and Little Slinky got a couple on a paternoster using Slimy Mackerel (that she caught on a plastic earlier) as bait, that were pushing legal size. All in all great therapy for a long time off the water. Got home and even the inevitable boat maintenance after a long period of it sitting idle, was enjoyable. Nice to have some salt on my skin again. Cheers, Slinky

shefford Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Glad to see you aren't harassing the carp any more. Well done on your catches, be that small, wasn't much difference up here! a 8cm flatty
abiasin Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 judging by the smiles on the faces it was a great day out well done.
Hodgey Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Nice report Tony. Landing the flattie on 2lb is a great effort That photo of Little Slinky and the Sergeant Baker is a corker!! Great to see you managed to slip away for a fish, mate, especially with everything you have on your plate at the moment. Hodgey
