I read something a month or so back that when you measure a barra on the floor of the boat its considerably less than when measured if held vertical, because their spine basically seperates under the weight of its own body. Hence why people are encouraged not to lift the big guys out of the water if a release is intended, as some large fish die or are badly damaged in the boating and release process.

I was wondering if Jews suffered from the same sort of condition, given a similar body shape and mass?

I'm yet to boat a jew but want to be careful when that memorable moment occurs.....

(PS Fished Como Bridge for Jews till midnight on Saturday night for one strike using yakka's, dam it gets cold at night now....)

Also when live baiting for jews, what hook do you prefer:

- circles

- or live bait J's

- something else
