Dominic Fijac Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 (edited) G'day, First time poster, been reading for the last month or so. Great site, learning alot. Went for a fish last night at Coogee on the high tide thought i'd go for a couple of tailor or aussie salmon gangin' pillys on about 20lb line No action on the those guys but right on high tide i start to reel in one of baits thinking i might have to chuck another pilly on and got hit my something. I pulled it in without too much of a fight not really sure what i was gonna get but landed a nice 50cm sandy Flathead. Haven't had to much luck in the east of late so it was a good change. Anyone else around the East doing a bit of landbased fishing i'm looking for a few more decent spots i haven't seen much info on eastern subs spots Cheers Dom Edited July 2, 2008 by squiddy
donjuarez Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Nice winter flattie off the beach mate! I dare say they'll be few and far between in the colder months... Haven't fished the east, so can't help you too much there.. but a week or 2 ago i remeber there was a post on some good size aussie salmon at the southern end of Maroubra beach... maybe you could try and give that a run? AJ
Ray R Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 to Fishraider Squiddy , nice flattie, very cool down the beach at night especially with this wind.
dodge Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Hi Squiddy I used to live in Tama and found the salmon all along the various beaches. Specifically I have caught them at Tama and Maroubra (middle of the beach) on the turn of the high tide. Keep ganging the pillies and they will come! Great flattie Cheers Dodge
Dominic Fijac Posted July 3, 2008 Author Posted July 3, 2008 (edited) Cheers Dodge, I'll give Maroubra a go tonight. Hopefully get a bit of success. Dom Edited July 3, 2008 by squiddy
johnsparky77 Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Try blessings on south maroubra, good sized drummer ONLY if you get passed the nuisance sweep who steal the bait cheers sparky77
