shefford Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Am looking at doing t he course up in Brisbane and reading the passing mark of 70%. Is it hard? What does the course entail? Just a bit worried about 27meg range vs vhf range/channels. Still can't decide ahh
Flightmanager Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 There is a fair bit to cover in the test , but if you study the resource material provided , you should get by OK . Ross
slinkymalinky Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 G'day Iricangi, The test isn't hard. There's a lot to learn but I did mine with Sydney Coast Guard and they made sure we all covered the important bits repeatedly. The course covers a lot... important radio frequencies, radio use & procedures, batteries (yep, even batteries), epirbs, etc. The test is a multi choice from memory. Once you get the qualification, you have it for life with no ongoing license fees. It's pretty easy really. I went into the test a little nervous but found I could zip through it fast because the trainers had made sure we new all the right stuff. Cheers, Slinky
