the1murph Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 hey mate we had such a shocker we had plenty of live slimeys, yakkas and tailor and a esky full of pillies. Last night was the 1st time ive ever tried for hairies and got there early but had no idea where to settle in (i didn't realise how big Jerusalem Bay actually was) so we picked up one of the moorings as far back in as possible does any one know if thats a good spot? We ended up getting alot of tangles because the area we where in had no wind at all and the boat was constantly doing circles..... we didnt get any touches..... Yeh i burned alot of fuel getting there from the back of pittwater where my boat is moored so im planning to wait for the social. Can anyone tell me where the good spots to fish in Jerusalem Bay are? Because I just took a big geuss and tried somewhere protected. This morning we also went for a troll around west head with some rapala's, ive never seen the reel spin so fast and I got busted off in about 10 seconds (must have been a resident hoodlum) hahaa Jack
flatty hunter626 Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 mate im not too sure cos i hav only been a few times but from what i hav seen/ herd.....the best places are up near the flats on the drop off or just a bit furhter towards the entrance on the nothern side of the bay.... cheers flatty hunter
choad Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 maybe the pro's cleaned up this year. has anyone seen hairtail at the fish markets lately or do the pro's export them? it's a shame, hey. i've tried twice this season for zip.
flatty hunter626 Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 yer mate you maybe right there, dose make for really frustrating fishing though.
