I was reading local paper today and noticed an add stating that there is a D/A in for approval for the Berowra Waters car park area.

It appears that if this D/A is approved it will mean that we loose 20 car and trailer postions.

It is already hard enough of the weekend to park with the 85 spots available with out loosing any.

I have been told there is a meeting at Hornsby Council next Wednesday the 16th July 2008.

Does anybody else know anything about this?

Hope we don't loose them as we will never get them back.

Council elections coming up so if there is a time to get something listened to now is it. If you don't want to lose the spots speak with the council officer about the DA and read it on the internet then do the proper objection and also contact all the councilers individually to ensure they are informed people care and that it will cost them votes.

Good luck

Following quick chat to council this morning it appears there is a submission going before council meeting next wednesday. At this stage the plan has been revised and if the porposal is approved we will loose 15 car and trailer spaces.

If anybody is interested we need letters sent to hornsby shire A wrad coucillors stating that you strongly dissagree with this proposal as the 85 at present is still inadequate.

These letters need to be sent this week prior to council meeting 16th July 2008.

Along similar lines there has been notes in several papers about Councils starting to prevent trailerboats being parked on the street.

Just what are the various BIA, fishing party , marine business owners and so on doing when these things come up. They won't sell boats if there is no where to launch them from or park them. They should be putting in submissions showing how boat owners support local businesses and that boat ownership is growing. Lots of decisions seem to begetting pushed through councils at the minute because council elections come up soon.
