That's an incredible collection Peter :1yikes::thumbup:

I knew an old gentleman in Brisbane many years ago who used to make intricate jewellery from them. They are highly sought after as trophies in jewfishing circles up there. Great photo mate.

I found them the first time I tried (must have got lucky)

If you turn the head upside down so the gills facing up you then need to find the bottom of the skull an inch or two behind where the eyes line up and break through the splintery cartilage and dig around a bit and they should pop out of their fluid sack.

Worked for me

Hey Peter, there was a butcher near tuncurry breakwall, who use to buy the big one's,he was at the wall the night I finally landed my big one and he gave me 50 bucks for the set that was in 81.

How'd you go Sean, any luck finding those jewels.

With Jewfish bits and pieces all over the place at your house,

I'm guessing you'll be placed on another fishing ban again mate. :tease:
