Hi guys

After Kim headed home on Fri, I had a quiet day, hardly moving from the loungeroom!! Yesterday, however, I joined my yakking buddies, Wendy, Rod & Stephen, in the hope of getting into some fish in & around the Breck Channel! It was not to be! The water was about 14 degrees & I reckon the fish had shut down BIGTIME!

I headed towards the bridge on the slack tide & looked into my box of goodies & saw my Vibe Blade & thought ..... today is the day .... & tossed it towards the bridge pylons. Immediately, I felt a tug, then another one ..... then I noticed a bloke walking up on the bridge was caught up in something ..... my lure!! :( They were very good about it - God knows how I had managed to toss it all the way up there!!!! They didn't rant & rave :mad3: as they could have .... but had a bit of a laugh & tossed the lure back!

I was freezing cold altho I had many layers on & shortly after lunch, gave up & went home!

The boys had headed over towards Tuncurry, but with the wind coming up bigtime, I wasn't up to battling it in my shorter yak, so stayed safe!

This morning, I met up with Wendy over in Tuncurry, not far from where Wendy got her BIG TOAD last week ..... and guess what she got again today!!! Yep! Another one!! :1badmood: Not fair!!!

I headed into a small bay & put on a Squidgy Pro Range sp & got an instant hit & landed a flattie! Another cast & I got a bream, then a flattie after that! Amazing!! :1yikes: 3 fish in 4 casts! The bream was 30cm & the flatties to 40cm! Quite a few casts later, I got a 3rd flattie! I was stoked!:yahoo: I gave the bream to Wendy & put the smaller flattie back, keeping the 2 x 40cm ones for the table.

I heard later that the boys got into flatties further up the river system :) Hopefully I will try for blackies from the breakwall tomorrow .... I hear some nice ones are being caught! :)

Cheerio

Hey Roberta

Well done on getting out in these pretty bleak conditions. Must be bitterly cold sitting in your yak at the moment, but to take home 2 x 40cm flatties certainly makes it all worth while.

Good luck on the breakwall tomorrow!

Well, it wasn't to be! Very ordinary today! I tried the breakwall but the current was taking forever to slow down & I only got 3 throwbacks. Saw one guy land a decent fish about 40cm. Heard of them bagging out over at Tuncurry, so went there for a couple of hours this afternoon & got 1 throwback! 2 other guys got 1 & 3 respectively - nice fish but not really big. Also started raining, so I packed up & came home. :) They'll be there another day :)

CHeerio for now - I think i will have a break from fishing .... Keith does the Hunter Valley 1/2 Marathon this weekend, so will be away from the end of the week anyway ..... with the heater on in our campervan!

Nice work Roberta you seem to be getting into a few fish up there. You live in a beautiful part of the east coast at forster. I have only ventured there a handful of times but enjoyed every one of them.

I've heard of some interesting ways for a woman to try to catch a new man but that might be taking things a bit literally Roberta.

In the end I think keeping the flatties was the best call... we men aren't useful for much! Sounds like you had a fun session. Love the report as usual... they always bring a smile to the dial.

Cheers, Slinky
