kikila
I had been given a reliable report that there was some bream and blurters to be had in the vicinity of the oil wharf and with only small tides this week it was decided to give the kings a miss and target bream first up. We were scooting along the bay at first light enjoying a beautiful bay sunrise as we came close to the cans, seeing the was no tanker there we decided to sling some lures about and see if we could stir up a king after several casts and not so much as a follow we gave up on that and went breaming. Anchoring in about the place we were told we set about getting some burly going and getting baits on the water, we were using a mixture of slimy, yakka, chicken fillet and pilchard tails. It wasn’t long before the bite stated, first fish in was a almost legal snapper of 29cm next was the smallest king I have ever caught just over 40cm a quick pic and back to the briny with it. Then Adam hooks a better class of king that didn’t like the look of the boat and gave Adam a real work out on his 8bld outfit after a solid tussle of about 10 minutes we netted a well conditioned 58cm king Adam’s best to date . That was the last king landed but Mick was busted up by one later and we had several kings follow up small bream and snapper that we were catching and some looked about legal size. All through the morning we had a steady procession of small snapper and bream coming in with the odd legal sized bream and some nice trevally as well, also caught a couple of flatties one going 61cm. At 9.30am a very strong nor westerly came blowing though and the fish just went off the bite like some had thrown a switch and caught nothing else there. We went for a drift and caught one more lizard but the bay was stating to churn up pretty bad so we headed over to foreshore drive and a couple of drifts over there for zip and called it a day. The tally for the day was 5 bream, 4 trevally, 3 flatties kept 2 kings released and upteen little bream and snapper. PS got about a dozen slimies also. not a bad day on the bay

Guest Big-Banana
Mate you certainly have the flatties sorted out. Every trip good or bad you get amongst them, good size to. Some nice fish there.
adamgatt
I had myself a ball of a time! That Kingy really gave me a work out on the light rod - he was tiring me out! Good fun. The slimies, trevors and bream were good company also on the light stuff. Thanks for another great day out on the bay Chris.
