Does anyone know whether the gate to the Bobbin Head boat ramp is closed at night? Thinking of using the ramp on Saturday for the hairtail social but don't want to get the car locked in just in case the cold is too much for us and we decide to pike out early.

Thanks, Slinky

I did find this on the website : http://www2.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/parks...Type=FACILITIES

Gates to Bobbin Head and Appletree Bay are closed from 8pm to 6am during daylight savings periods, and 5.30pm to 6am at other times of the year. Gates to West Head are closed from 8.30pm to 6am during daylight savings periods, and 6pm to 6am at other times of the year.

I have NEVER seen them lock the gates at night in all the years I have gone down there.

We have done many a midnight session out of there and never had a problem getting in or out, apart from the fog :1prop:

Yeh they have the signs but they mean nothing.

Cheers

Tony - do you mean the park entry gates or the boat ramp gates

I have seen the ramp gates closed before

I launch there 90% of the time..

Have launched at 3am, 4am without any issues, and have come back at midnight without any issues...

Have never seen either gate locked... I dare say they don't lock it.. summer or winter... and I usually find the toilets are left open too...

Provided there's no vandalism I can;t see them closing the gates any time soon...

If the vandals arrive... lockup will definitely happen!
