Botany Bay

Hey guys Went out to Botany Bay for a arvo sesh got on water around 12:30pm and headed straight for the heads started trolling untill we got near Maroubra beach saw a massive school of fish which looked like Tuna saw blue tails goin crazy we couldnt even catch up to them thats how fast the were travelling got abit close a few times but no hookups after about 2hrs chasing the school without a touch decided to hit molineux pt where we caught around 40slimys in 30 - 60minz till we got enough for Bait for next time and decided to call it a day.

Wanted to ask you guys has anyone caught any of those tuna just out of the heads or whatever they are.

Mate we trolled straight in them around them we tried everything from metal to soft plastic lures but then we saw a much bigger school but we couldnt keep up thats how fast they were travelling.

howdy ,sounds like they were stripies,tuna feed at an outstanding pace were as other speciess are more sedate,they were probably feeding on something very small and at times they get fixated on what there eating and wont touch anything that is larger than what there feeding ,try a trolled fly or a sinker with a trace attached conected to a fly(does this make sense )

we were chasing the outside the heads last week,we hooked onto one on a tiny soft plastic ,and i mean small soft plastic which cr@zy faridation nearly got spooled so i had to motor to the fish as he gained his line back only to snap the hook,he was using 6pound line hehe

What kind of soft plastic was it and did you troll it???

Yeah did you see what they were i saw a there tail and thought for sure some sort of tuna and man they were fast!!!

Hopefully this weekend ill get into em!
