SNAPPER AND KINGS

Billfisher and Broadbill fished down south for snapper over the past few trips and at the Peak for kings

The southern grounds worked well for small reds up to a couple of kilos ( my favourites and the best table size) These days I personally enjoy immensely.Motors turned off, a little music on the stereo as the boats sits beautifully on anchor. Add to this formula some great snapper action fishing sp’s and floaters and you would not be dead for quids.

I headed to the Peak on Sunday and bagged out on kingfish in big numbers, but only kept a few as they are all “unders” .

We released 50 kings. Best techniques was the use whole pilchards or jigging. ( the bait technique out fished the jigs) We had many double hook ups on the pillies. It’s a shame they are all rats but alas one can only catch what’s there and by and large the customers love this active action.

We then hit the flathead grounds on the way home and caught 30 fish to 65 centimetres They were a mix or marbled and blue spots. By and large both boats had successful days without being spectacular

Plenty of bent rods and that’s smiles on dials and happy campers………….I guess.

Jeez,

mate that's a bit harsh, just cause you buy a ticket doesn't mean you are buying your way into a great day on any species, every time. I remember your day and I also remember trying to talk you guys out of going tuna fishing but tuna it was against my advice.. I guess that's why they call it fishing and not catching...sometimes it is better to take advise as we see it rather than taking the risk on pie in the sky.

Spend a few more dollars and it will happen on our boats I can assure you of that.
