Guest Big-Banana
Gday All, Got to Brooklyn at around 5:30am with the hopes of catching a few Dolphin Fish. Lauched the boat and headed to West Head to get some liveys. Had a few Yakka's under the boat but Dad got impatient and we decided to head out wide. We ventured to the Broken Bay Wide Government FAD for no touches with very cold water topping out at 20.8 degrees. Decided to head out to the Perch Grounds to troll around the traps. Found the traps but unfortunately the FAD's we launched last year had been swept away. Seems like if they stay put for one year its an effort. We trolled Xmas Trees and Saltwater Flies around the traps for nothing. Stopped and started floatlining Pillies and Squid. The water was a little warmer at 21.8 degrees. At 11am we had only 2 Dolphin Fish. Very hard fishing. Trolled for a couple more km's through the traps and didnt get any touches. The water was flat as but the fishing was very slow the whole day. Very frustrating. Came back to the ramp after a bit of bottom bashing a couple km's due east of Lion Island for nothing but a couple of toothys and bite offs. Saw Swoffa at the ramp and had a chat, he reported little action as well. Looks like everyone did it a bit tough today. See you out there
Guest bluecod
BB, Bad luck that you couldn't find any warm water - we were further south and the temp peaked today at 25.1 but we couldn't find any dollies. For the time being let's just say that one of the board's Gold Members got two firsts today. I'll put up a post later when I've downloaded from the camera and finished a few chores around the house. allison189
Well we also went out off bb this weekend. We usually fish out of our local waters here off Lake Macquarie but desided with the tourny on this weekend we would head off bb. BAD MISTAKE, lol. We fished from the terrigal fad out over the shelf for 0 0 0. Then find out at the Lake macquarie weigh in today the guys have done ok up here. About 100 marlin tagged in 2 days from 56 boats and 4 marlin weighed today. I guess i just got to keep at it for a little longer still before i get my wife her marlin, lol Cheers Jas
