Guest Jocool
Won't bore you a long winded story...Basically we caught Jack!!! On a positive notre, It was great to get out there on such a calm and serene day. And I would like to thank Bashir for being troupe leader and helping us out today, and for taking one of my crew aboard with him as he was solo! Bashir...Your a legend mate! I hope Tony didn't try and put one on you! But having said all that, my brother called me on the way home to tell me about his adventures today out the front of Umina beach! He was out there on his jetski with my cousin, and they actually stopped and fished. He boated...or is it skiied ...2 flattys to 50 cm's. Third flatty coming up was monstered by a big silver flash as just as it was near the boat. It engulfed the whole body left him just the head. Then he went on to tell me the waters were alive with boils, and he landed a few Bonnies. During a double hookup, Simon popped his line after a 25 minute fight, and Sam, my brother did battle with an unknown, on 5 KG tackle and finally it popped the line after an hour battle!!! He was telling me had an audience, and numerous offers of help from passing boats. Even the waterways guys hung around to see the outcome! And of course...In true brotherly fashion...He had to rub in the fact that he outfished me!
Bashir
That will be the last time I head to broken bay wide in a while. Seems like longie and the bait station had the fish today, such a crap day out wide, easily my worst effort, didn't turn a reel, and I saw 1 dollie boated out of a shiteload of boats at the FAD. The water was an ugly greeny blue with no decent current lines to be found anywhere. Sorry Joe, but that's offshore Sydney for ya! Next time I guess. Guest Big-Banana
At least we all sucked yesterday. I don't feel so bad now.We went out to the Terrigal FAD and floated live yakkas and gars around for jack, we had one follow from a little dollie. We then went wider and trolled around the 70 fathom mark as it was the warmest water we found at 22.1 degrees. We didn't turn a reel. What made matters worse was all the reports coming through the radio, apparently the bait station wa at 24 degrees and the were quite a few bills turning up, one boat landed 3 with the biggest at 125kg. I can't wait to get out again... 30679[/snapback] Those reports suck. I would have given anything to find that water.
