Hi raiders went out for a quick king session on thursday

and ended up with a few sydney kings.

My mate got a new reel for his birthday and was hanging to use it and so he did.

Most were taken on plastics, lures and some on livies

the weather was great and the fishing was aswell you can not ask

for more than that.

Here are some pics of 4 of the keepers we kept for the table and

most of the fish we through back as they were undersize.

No thats not how we bleed them the best way is to cut around

the gill latch to bleed them, then the cut you can see just seperates

the stomach then you just grab the gills and rip out the whole lot

in one go.

We just do this on the spot to get the best quality of preperation

for the table then sit straight on the ice the fish stay very

fresh that way.

Every one has a different method some times i just lift the gills

and spike it with the tip of a knife and bleed it over the side in

a keeper net

Awesome catch fellas! Especially for this time of year!

Traditionally... yes, although you'll agree that Kingies are becoming as prolific during Winter as they are in summer. Like the Salmon run, which was always a Winter occurance, Kingies too are becoming a year round option. Bring it on/back!!
