fishmaniac
Hey all, Went out both days this weekend. I went out with dad on sat morning. It was a nice day out and good to spend the time with him. Been a while since we have had a fish together and it was him that got me into fishing. We fishing off north head. We managed 2 nice big sandflathead, a snapper and a leatherjacket. But i will say the leatherjackets are rampid and an absolute pain in the arse!! That is an understandement. I think i will spend some time making my own sinkers to replace the 8 that got bitten off On the way home i took for a quick calamari flick. We managed one each around 35cm length mantles in 30mins in the middle of the day then came home for a relaxing afternoon. Today we headed to the wide grounds in search of the fin. I heard patchy reports during the week but we decided to give it a shot. We headed directly east for about 50km looking for a temp break. Nothing over 19.5 degrees. So we stopped and cubed for nithign. Trolled to browns for a YFT about 11kg. Cubed and trolled back to the shelf for zip. Pretty unsuccessful but good to get at least one. The water from last weekend has moved further out but hopefully we may get another shot. The fish are certainly much smaller but they taste just as good.
