Gday guys.. Had a top day on the water today with a couple of mates.. on the water by 6.. straight to balmoral to collect some livies and back in to middle harbour by 8.. Baits down and 2 hours till the top of the tide things were looking good. With in 30min we had our first fun and and nice king in the esky. She went 70cm :biggrin2: High fives all round but straight back into it. Baits down.. waiting.. waiting.. When BANG 2 lines go sreaming off 1x Shimano tld2000 charter special and 1x Shimano baitrunner 4500 at the same time double hook up! Its like music listering to those drags run.. a good 10 minute fight till we see colour when the fish cross up and make a couple of darting runs when SNAP! :1yikes: We manage to get one in the boat and but were dissappointed we lost the other. :05: This one was 74cm and nice and fat. They slowed up after that so we went and got some lunch a couple of six packs and enjoyed the feeling of coming home with some fish..Definately off to get both my reels geared up with some braid ready for the weekend! Looking forward to a hot season they have def made a good start.. Sorry no pics. Vinni

G'Day Matty,

Both myself and my "deckie" FishyPete use Charter specials as well an an array of other fine tools. They are a great work horse for the money and are no fuss. If you put braid on it, I suggest 30lb and use some backing if you don't want to go the braid all the way. The reel will hold 550 yards of 30lb braid and if you use backing buy at least 300m of braid as the reel is a good all rounder and it will hold a decent fish if you are lucky (with 300m you can have a real crack). Set up the lever drag to your liking and you are away. Make sure the rod can handle it and you have a great inexpensive Kingy set up.

Cheers

Josh
