Penguin
Hi every1, Went for a fish on Friday around 10am, we decided to go out to the 12 mile but half way there we saw lots of bird activity, so we stopped and threw a few metals around, as well as a few pilly cubes. Pretty much straight away we were hooking up on Striped Tuna. Although not my preferred catch these little pocket rockets were alot of fun and kept us entertained for about an hour. We left the stripeys while still on the chew. We set off for our original destination with a couple of lures set out the back of the boat. I got smashed on one of the lures and as I was nearly spooled I tightened up the drag on my reel only to have the 15kg mono break, I was spewing and had no idea what had taken my lure, but it was fun while I was connected to the fish. Got to the 12 mile, and dropped a couple of jigs down but nothing jumped on to them. We did see a 2mtr Shark of some description on the surface while we were there. We made the decision to head back in and try some bottom bashing around Bondi, and try get some sort of a feed. The result here was a bunch of Flatties. We kept those that went over 40cm. Tried a few spots in the Harbour on our way back in but only found under size fish. We had a fun day and there were a few wales out on the ocean as well, so we got a free show from them. Cheers Penguin Heres a pic of a Stripey and the Flatties I kept everything else was released.
