Hi Guys,

I am new to the lure world as I have used bait most of my fishing life. When using hard bodied lures, I tend to attach the lure to the line using a small snap clip. I have these spinnerbaits with the open eye, how are they attached to your line? Do you just tie them onto the line? Or can you use a small snap clip/ swivel ??What stops the line from sliding down the lure?

Straight UNI KNOT ,Glenn as you dont want any slips or movement :biggrin2:

Definately no loop knots or Snaps. I use a Uni knot.

With Spinnerbaits, all the action is in the blades and skirt. So you would have nothing to gain exept a pain in the arse by tying loops or using snaps.

Spinnerbaits are a great bass catching tool, and with persistance and confidence they should pay dividends.

I hope the addictive world of Lure fishing is as rewarding for you, as it is for the rest of us.

I have also added a small bit of tubular plastic onto that top bit where you tie the knot, so it positively can't slip down the wire, should the knot become loose!

I got busted off by a beautie down the south coast when fishing for bass with Starlo. I like the look of that one, tho Glenn - it'll get taken no worries! Just retrieve it nice & slow...... and hang on!!

Thanks for the info guys, really appreciate it. By the way Roberta, where do you get that tubular stuff from? Your idea sounds great, as the knot will never slip.

I just keep any stray bits of electrical wiring & strip the plastic tubing from the wire & cut it to size! :) It should be a snug fit!
