numbnuts Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 For the first time in many years I did not get to fish the classic .Not all bad news though as I picked up my new boat on Saturday and worked on the customising on Sunday,so could not make the weigh-in.Can anyone give us a run down on the turnout , who won and with what fish?
tide'n'knots Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 hi numbnuts, the winning fish was a 19kg jew caught by a big guy whose name escapes me but apparently he won last year! his mate got 2nd with a 15kg jew. As I was about to go home I heard someone ask what he caught it on and he said a live whiting! Pete.
numbnuts Posted November 9, 2008 Author Posted November 9, 2008 Did he get booed off the stage this year?
Flatty.Fan686 Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Did he get booed off the stage this year? Hi numbnuts, the guy who won this year was Paul Southwell and had caught a 19.2 Kg Jew. I had so far the worst year in the competition, of the four years going in it. But anyway always next year. Cheers
numbnuts Posted November 10, 2008 Author Posted November 10, 2008 Well Flatty now you know how I feel, All my mates have won it and this year was going to be my turn I thought.BUT my invitation did not get mailed out in time and my new boat was late arriving and to top it off I had red hot mail on where they have been biting....ah well try again next year.

numbnuts Posted November 13, 2008 Author Posted November 13, 2008 Kit, there was a bit of a blow-up last year about whether the fish was caught before the Friday evening starting time.......Locodave ,it is a quite prestigous event run for charity each November by the Pitt Town Fishing Club. PM "changa" in fishraider members as he is the club prez.
