Trinidad 12 And 14.

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone out there may know of the differences

apart from line capacity with these two reels. (TN12 to TN14)

As with most specifications I would imagine the 14 to have a wider

spool hence the larger capacity and slightly heavier weight - is that

the case?

Also what would the real world drag pressure be for these models?

I am looking to spool with 20lb braid and am wondering if ten pound

of drag is a reality.

I know these models are no longer imported into Australia by

Shimano, but I am keen to hunt one or the other out. I would prefer

the TN12 as I suspect the spool to be narrower and lighter - thus

better cast capabilities for lighter lures.

If anyone knows of either the TN12 or 14 for sale (used) or in

stock at their local I would appreciate a heads up.

Thanks for any info anyone may be able to provide or some

well informed pros / cons would also be appreciated.

Mate i wish you put this up a little while back i recently sold my Brand new TN12 on Eprey...

Mate frtom memory they are capable of about 7kg of drag

thanks mate for the info on the drag. Sounds like twenty pound would

be a good compromise for castability and power.

I too wish this post was listed earlier, your reel would have been a

timely purchase for what I have in mind.
