Furuno And Garmin ?

I have a furuno ls 4100 and garmin etrex gps. Can i connect the gps unit to the finder??

Pretty sure you can. You need a bare end Etrex cable and make a join to the Furuno GPS lead. Do a search on the net and you'll find the bits and the color codes for the wires.

I would have thought your GPS needs to export and import NEma data to talk to the furuno, be careful just baring wires. Ring Garmin up and ask or better still email. I have heard there customer support has gone down hill since GME stopped distrubting them.

Hi mate. I have the Furuno 585 and want to connect a Garmin handheld to it if it will work. Let me know how you go with your connection and if it works.

no worries at themoment trying to contact garmin. I found bare cables but only from overseas. not sure if the etrex will send the info as yet?

anyone else have ideas let me know!

yeah their customer support is terrible now! I needed an extension for my transducer so emailed them and they sent back the product number etc that i needed, so i got my local tackle shop to order that exact thing in for me and then it didnt fit!! Id clearly told them what model number etc that i needed. Fortunatley the tackle shop let me return it, but then i emailed Garmin back telling them that they screwed up etc etc and that i only bought the finder cos i thought the extension cable was available and they never emailed me back!
