Hi Raiders,

Braved the big winds this arvo and headed to Narra Lake

to have a fish in my new yak (Hobie Outback).

Things were not easy out there but it was still an enjoyable arvo.

After about 5 casts(using S.P's) I had a hit but I was not able to

react to it straight away because the wind was blowing me all

over the place. Once I got control I decided to stike just in case.

At first I thought I was stuck on some weed but then I felt some

head shakes and I knew that this would be a good fish. I was only

fishing 4lb with a 10lb leader so I had to be patient with fish.

Five minutes later I had this nice 60cm flattie.

As wind picked up even more I decided to seek some protection

so I travelled further up river. I caught another 4 or 5 smaller

fish between 35 and 40 cms.

Getting back to the boat ramp was nightmare as I was going against

the wind. I got very wet. :1badmood:

All in all it was a good session and can't wait to get out there again.

Bye for now

bugger I was gonna head down there and try and catch him tomorrow. Hopefully hes got some bigger friends waiting for me. Yeah not easy yak fishing in the wind but youre in the best craft to do so. Bloody good effort tho, so how many times did he spike you when you got him in the yak?

If you ever see another outback in narra and a funny looking guy with a dragon tat on his leg, come and say Gday

Nice Catch Mate!

Just last wednesday my friend and I picked up a nice 45cm flattie and I was busted off by something that felt around that size!

Hoping to go back down there tomorrow.

Well done, Luke!!! You've been out in the worst weather, it can only get better from here on! :) :) Don't forget the good old bit of advice ........ when checking out the weather for yakking ...... If in Doubt, DON'T!!!! It doesn't happen often, but when it does, you will know!!

Terrific Lizard! Well done on getting it in with such light line!! The first of many!! :) :)

great sized flattie. Well done. They sure do fight well at that size. Everytime I hook a good flattie I get so nervous about not rushing as their teeth will easily slice through your leader.
