Went out today with a mate on the hacking. Fished inside for bream on chunks of supermarket raw prawns (too lazy to go get bait today) and did some drifting outside also. Ended up being a great afternoon after a drizzly morning. wind was blowing a gale at one point but it didn't stop the fish.

ended up with 3 decent keeper bream and two flathead. bout to cook em up on the bbq now

That was a nice catch mate, looks like the supermarket prawns are as good as any. I like to drift along the main channel in the Hacking, but it can;t be on weekends, too much boat traffic. What area did you fish.

Yes they sure did the job as we got plenty of hits, dropping a few fish and i got busted once or twice aswell. we were using cut down banana prawns. had heaps of bait at $13/kg too. We fish for bream inside. I find any spot where the channel necks down a bit. anchor to the side out of the way of traffic and burley up. we went towards north west arm yesterday.

drifted outside for the flathead in about 25m of water. just straight out the front.

mate good catch there... Was fishing saturday morning in the hacking as well, though with the current flowing in one direction and the wind blowing in the opposite direction, it was hard to get a proper berley trail going. Only landed 2 bream, one at 37cm so it wasnt as good a day as yours but hopefully it will get better soon.

Nice feed there. Well done for persevering in the windy conditions. A mate of mine got a nice sized lizard recently drifting over the sandbar between Mansion Bay & North West Arm on S.P in only about a metre of water.
