adkel53
I am investigating the purchase of an electric motor for a 4.6 metre aluminium boat. I know that Minkotas are a very well known and excellent brand but they are about twice as much as an eqivalent powered Watersnake model. Anyone out there using a Watersnake in salt water? Would you mind giving me your opinion about its performance, durability, corrosion resistance etc?? cheers Kel

It gets shown no favours and has been very reliable. A hose off and lube on a regular basis is all I do and whilst the Minn's are probably better built and a little quieter you can't beat the value of the snakes. Yes you will hear about issues but there are as many reports of failures on Minns. Theres often some good prices around too so shop around.
