Crabbing The Hawkesbury

Hi all.

just wondering if any Raiders could give me a hand with some info/spots on crabbing the hawkesbury.

i have been constantly trying to catch these elusive buggers for the last 4 weeks in the Hawkesbury but just cant seem to stike gold.

i have been trying spots such as Akuna Bay, out the front of dangar island, Berowra creeks and the like.

im using the witches hats style of traps.

if anyone could point me in the right direction in regards to some spots i would be very greatful.

there are usually good blue swimmers in patonga creek at chrismas time I have caught them there on several chrissy hols whilst camping there. I assume they would be there now also.

shit loads of muddies up berowra creek and mooney creek .....and plenty of blueys at the port channel markers on the eastern side of dangar.....good luck mullet frames seem to be the best bait...

i know there is a few big muddies round pumkin point and up pumkin creek but never got them that far up ....any one else got them past pumkin point??

my oldies were up there for a holiday not long ago and my old man got a few blue swimmers in the witches hat traps just across from where they stayed at bar point. They werent huge but not bad. Don't know what he used for bait.

Thanks for all your help fellas.

might venture up a couple of the creeks and try for the odd muddie around mooney and make my way back to a few sandy drop offs around the place.

will let you all know how i go ( if the weather permits)
