Hi boys n girls.

I am looking to get a storm cover for my Quintrex Cruiseabout. Press stud fit from the windscreen to the stern. Does anybody have any recommendations on who could make a cover at a reasonable price, in the Sydney area? I have had a rough quote from Mobile Covers but was taken aback :D I know that a full cover, from Sterns or similar, would be around $110 for my 5m Quinnie, but I don't want a full cover.

Hi

I had a storm cover for my 5.25 Stacer installed last week by onsite boat covers at a cost of $750 (seems to be the going price) .It was very well made and fits the boat like a glove - went home via the M7 / M5 and no flapping or distortion and the boat towed one hell of a lot better .

Like most things in life you only get as good as quality as you are prepared to pay for. The multifit covers are really only suitable for parked boats.

Hope this helps

regards Bill

Thanks for the 'heads up' on the site rules, Grant. Wow!!! There is not much you can say that doesn't contravene those rules in one way or another, is there. Can't say, ' I really love fishing with brand X, as it may be deemed as plugging a product which may not be one of the sponsors, etc etc etc.

If any members do have some suggestions, then PM me please (but that is also against site rules if you tell me to try manufacturer X) Oh well..... :(

Mate people pay good money to advertise on this site. We have been approached by many business' within the fishing/boating industry ( including boat covers ). We are selective in our chosen sponsors & protect their investment.

Why should we allow this site to be a free for all with people plugging their business whenever they can?

If we don't have sponsors we don't have fishraider.

I make no apolagies on this.

You may have noticed in my post that I have o.k'd members to p.m you with their suggestions, so they will not be contravening site rules.

Cheers,

Grant

Hi Hun, I think you are a little off the mark mate. I am sure the mods do not have a problem with you saying that you prefer brand x whatever. Unlike other sites, this site has rules to keep it as good as it is and will stop unethical businesses coming on here and just pluggin there work. Yes by all means if you have found a good business that makes storm covers PM is the way to go.

Now to the question, a well made storm cover from the screen back to the transom should not cost more than $500. Yes I know you can buy generic all over covers, but the $100 ones are not designed to travel with and to get a generis one that you could tow with is about $300-$400 and Ipersonally would still want a custome made one.

We have a company that we have been using for about 30 years and they are mobile, so just like the site rules, PM me if you would think their number and depending where you are he could come to you and make a good storm cover.

Cheers,

Huey.
