Josh88 Posted November 23, 2008 Share Posted November 23, 2008 I'm not a huge fan of baitcasters but they have their place particularly with some aspects of lure fishing especially around snags where really accurate casting is required. I use one for bass, yellas, and cod in freshwater, and flathead, EPs, Barra and jewfish in saltwater. Their restrictions pertain to finesse fishing. Casting lightweight lure on a baitcaster is difficult (if acheived at all) A good 'entry level' baitaster is the Daiwa Excellor 100H or the Shimano Coriolis 100 GA.
