andrewteo@optusnet.com.au Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 This is my first write up after experimenting with sp's, Im hooked. The past 4 weeks I have perservered with an assortment from nuclear chicken, pumpkin seed varieties and a mix of shrimp and yes , they all work. The thing I like about them is that they are fresh every time you use them, remember to seal the bag. I caught a my biggest lizard on friday arvo battling gale force winds and a rising tide 86cm, will get a pic up soon. The Funkster
yakfishing Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Nice flatty mate! Yeah I love the placcies, those gulps work but are giving me the shits at the moment cuz the bloody packets leak even when you seal them up, my appartment stinks of the stuff. I'm gonna be pissing bait off alltogether soon as my luring skills increase, there aint much you wont get on a lure nowadays and mucking around with bait is getting old
Steve07 Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Nice fish there mate & great fun to catch on plastic's too. Good first report, well done! Steve
locodave Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 It's fun catching fish on SP's, I never believed they worked either till I caught one
cupster Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 nice flattie mate,i'm a recent convert to sps' myself...won't do a flattie drift without one. They definately out fish dead baits when drifting, though i'm not sure if it's the sp itself or if it's because i'm actively working the sp while i tend to leave the rod with the dead bait alone. Pumpkinseed seems to be the go for me at the moment.
brooksbunch Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 good work! I think the fish know not many fishermen like the wind and rain
Roffo Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 That's a great fish on SPS. Well done. Cheers Roffo
kingfishercam Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 good work champ , hope to see you out on the water soon.
GOOB Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Funkster, Great work on the plastics. I've tried the Squidgey's and some of the lesser known brands and you are 100% correct, THEY DO WORK. I said it last week, the big Flatties are on and coming out to play. last week and now yours. Better get the beer batter going. GOOB
diver1 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 i will never use bait again, soft plastics are awesome!! and the flatties love em!!!!
