Hey guys,

I'm heading down to Green Patch Camping grounds on Jervis Bay in a couple of weeks with some mates

I was jsut wondering if anyone has been fishing there before and how they went. As i've never been fishing there before, i'm just wondering whether it's worth the effort of bringing gear.

I've been snorkelling there before and its a really beautiful place.

Any information or tips would be awesome

Cheers, Alex

Absolutely,

Fished plastics off the beach for flatties many a time. Nothing especially big but some nice pan sized ones.

Also the rocks on the right when you head towards Murrays.....not fished there myself but snorkel there alot and would definitely give it a go. I'm usually there with the kids and try to not fish too much...save that for the early morning and late arvo's.

Seen some people getting squid off the breakwall at Murray beach boat ramp so that may be useful for the some fresh bait as well if your landbased.

Don't need to overpack as 1 rod for placcies and/or one rod off the rocks/beach would be enough.

Hope that helps,

Niko

hey dude,

yeah i went camping there (my first camp trip ever) with my 2 brothers

its an absolutely beautiful place! we saw kangaroo's + possums + all sorts of wild life.

fished off the beach at night caught a just legal snapper, a 1.5meter massive shovel head shark and alot of rays lol...

if u walk over to the right side where all the rocks are, and u keep going u'll find a little secluded beach = good for flattys what the above guy mentioned

and if u keep walking, theres a rock flat platform, we caught snappers and tailors off here lol.

but be careful when high tide comes as u can get 'stuck' on the platform haha.

have fun
