Hey Gang,

Thought I'd post a few pics from my day in the office at Whale Beach today. Went to Mona Vale but didn't even get out of the car because it was too crap there, so went up to Greenies ( left hand side rocks after Whale Beach), but again too exposed. I have decided that Rock Hopping sucks, because 9 out of 10 days the conditions are too rough around where I fish here on the Northern Beaches. Anyway went to the rocks below Rayner Rd ( right side of Whale Beach ), and on my walk around to the spot I come around a corner and see this huge Sea Lion!!!- It scared the shit out of me, because I didn't see it at first and it was under this ledge about 5 meters from me and let out a grunting noise. So I took a photo with my mobile phone ( the shittiest quality camera known to man!!!!!). Got some Cunje and had a few loaves of bread and managed to get a few. Big Silver Drummer, a couple of pigs(just took 1 pic of one), Grouper and silly Sweep. Got busted off twice to some decent Pigs, was using 40lb mono, with 25lb leader. Oh well, you win some, you lose some!.

Might head back down there tomorrow if the NE winds are still around or maybe Old Man's Hat. I just got to catch a Drummer on fly!!!- it will happen. The results were not spectacular, but gives everyone some new photos to look at today right?. It seems that every second photo posted on the site lately is of either Kings, Lizards, or Jews.

Cheers, and have a good evening,

Matt

I beg to disagree. Rock hopping can be great fun. You did to keep your wits about you.

Great feed of fish Matt. There is a lot of muscle in those photos, so it was a top effort to land the buggers!

Cheers

Well done Nanook, given the trying conditions! I bet that sea lion would have given you a fright :1yikes:
