GregL Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Nice work and both crackers! Are you casting into the marina after your bream? The sercurity is on the ball usually down there..... G
james7 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Congratulations Adzzy on the pbs! All because you knocked off work early. Imagine if you'd have taken the whole day off! That bream is a real thumper. And I never thought I'd say it, but I am actually jealous of someone with the crabs! Top catch. Cheers Peter
arpie Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Well done on both captures, Adzzy!! Terrific fish ('specially on light line) & that muddy is awesome!! Count your fingers after you cook him! Roberta

adzzy Posted November 27, 2008 Author Posted November 27, 2008 Muddies in the harbour?! Can you give us a very rough guide as to what sort of area? That crab's huge! Hi Qwyjibo I can do better and give you the exact spot on the point opposite kissing point wharf ( i wouldnt call it the harbour though ) i have been catching them there for years and caught plenty this size each one as tasty as the last, and NO i do not feel ill or mutated in any way cheers Adzzy
bjneville Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Thanks adzzy. You pre-empted my next question
Richard Warren Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Thanks adzzy. You pre-empted my next question Congratulations. Theres a good feed in that lot. I might have to miss work a bit more too. I think I frrl a cold coming on.
GregL Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Hi GregL i was casting into the very last birth furthest from the shore line why would the security care if im on my own boat thats not illegal i hope cheers Inside the marina is ment to be a "fish sanctuary" so the coast gaurd and sercurity use to always tell us.. That place is full of MONSTER bream Take a loaf of bread down and rip a few pieces up and chuck it in the corner of your berth. Shouldn't take long for the bream to start going ape over it. Now squash some over a unweighted hook but leave a section unsquashed so it will either float or slowly sink and hang on! Some of the old blokes in there and Cabarita marina showed me this many years ago. G
bjneville Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Fish sanctuary my ass. It's a public waterway. You can't own the water. They're just concerned about me dinging the hull of their precious floating gin palaces with my jig heads Diddums

GregL Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 I have never heard that before if that was the case there should be signs and that sounds liike the same way i fish for trevs Cheers There is a sign over on the western end near where the coast guard boats are parks. It's on the wall near the stairs of the main building...... I tried that argument before to! G

G How far does it continue into the river or is it just within the mariner because i have seen people fishing off the wall at birken head for years at all hours Adzzy
gerg Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Adzzy - very nice bream mate. There is absolutely no problem fishing the outside wall mate, though some of the gestapo will try to tell you that it is "private" on the outside of the marina too. I've been shoo'd away whilst fishing the outside walls of the marina at cabarita, though the security guard couldn't tell me how far the "private property"of the marina extended out from the outside pontoons. cheers, Greg

bjneville Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Keep at 'em adzzy! Bugger the marina nazis
