Bringellybill Posted December 12, 2008 Author Posted December 12, 2008 thats a nice little tinny and as for the poly what a great boat they are are you a member of pbo bill Thanks p o ylop for the warm welcome. Sorry for the delay in responding, been bloody busy with work in the silly season. I'm taking the little beast up to Port Macquarie from the 22nd to the 30th Dec. Any fishraider who see me on the water impersonating a fishman come and say gidday. Chuck me a fish if my keepers net is empty!!! Counting down the days, only 11 sleeps til I'm sitting on the water not giving a sh...t about anything. As for what I'm hoping to hit, I really dont care as a bad days fishing is better than a good day mowing the bloody lawn. Cheers Bill
sportfish Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 As for what I'm hoping to hit, I really dont care as a bad days fishing is better than a good day mowing the bloody lawn. Thats the way to go, Good luck Bill

Cheers Bill You sound like a true Fishraider Bill! to the site. That's a nice rig you have there & I'm sure you'll catch plenty of fish from her. Why don't you bring her along to the Kingy social in January? Check out our social events forum. Good luck in Port. Enjoy your trip. Cheers, Grant.
fishguts Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 bill! i have the souped up forward steer model...but it is still the same hull as yours and i love it...even great outside on good days....enjoy!..... ..cheers!..stevo!..

Stevo, Did you start with a tiller? I'm curious to know what it would cost me to convert to a centre or side console forward control? As mentioned I'm running a 30hp 4 stroke Yammie. I find it quick for a tiller tinnie and sh..t myself when i hit a bite of a wake at top speed. After reading a few comments on this site I fitted a hydrofoil and found the steering better when i took it for a run last week. Bill
fishguts Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 no i got the package deal, extra rails white paint job, decals and this boat was called (ironically) an insider runs a 30 hp cv 2 stroke 58kmh.....and was the first of its kind in new glory to be blakes entry in the boat show of that year!...but it does broach in heavy seas and it comes down to skippering..... fantastic lake boat but once again tuggerah lakes whips up big time because of being only 2 mtrs deep at best..(.think cape horn when it is bad!)..for the money i am a proud owner! ..cheers!..stevo!..

Enjoy your trip. Cheers, Grant. Hi Grant, I have read about the Kingy social and it sounds awesome. Mate despite having owned 4-5 boats over the last 20 years I never really considered myself a good fisherman. However with the abundance of information this site offers i'm starting to think there is hope for me yet. Back to the Kingy social,I have a couple of things to consider. 1/ Having seen my boat would you take it into the harbour? Common sence tells me to respect the conditions. I am very very conservative when it comes to saftey. Certainly no cowboy! 2/ As yet i have no electronics ie no radio no lights. Will be coming but may take time and budget. 3/ Only time i fished for Kingies was with a charter boat company at Ulladulla. Did what the skipper told us to do and caught heaps, just one of those lucky days..... May need to find one of those people from desperate and boatless to show me the ropes. Sorry if the speeling and grama have deteriated. Had a stressfull week and i'm enjoying the last of the 6 pack Heineken.

Bringellybill Posted December 12, 2008 Author Posted December 12, 2008 Nice boat.what area are you planning on hitting? Anything but a pilon! All jokes aside I need some serious mentoring. Having not owned a boat for a few years I'm glad to be sitting on the water jiggling a peeled prawn over the side hoping to hook that elusive flattie or bream. In time with a little bit of trial and error and maybe some coaching I would like to have a crack at those Kingies in the bay and harbour that I read so much about. Cheers Bill

Thanks Stevo, Mine was came out of Blakes as well. I purchased it from one of my customers who purchased it back in 05. He estimated his total usage at 20-30 hours and I picked it up for $5K. ( I'm sure this was mates rates?) By chance you were you fishing under the Oatley railway bridge on Sunday, A couple of blokes in a boat that sounds like the one you described gave me the big thumbs up as I powered under the bridge?
