taloyoak
Well I wasn't even supposed to go to work today ( fishing), and was originally going to go to Narra Lake with Luderick 59, but had to take my dear old mother across the other side of Sydney to get her expensive sewing machine fixed. Luckily I managed to convince myself to go spend a few hours in the office so I went to Whale again. This time it was just at the top of High tide, and the swell was small today. I never seem to be able to hook any pigs with Cunje, only pesky Sweep, so decided on good ol' cabbage. I was using 15 lb leader and managed to only get a humongus cockie- he was so big I just had to laugh, but as I was dragging him through the wash he came off and swam to freedom. Definately a PB for Cockies...lol. Then switched to 8lb line. Long story short.... managed the fish in the pics- 1 really good sized Blackie at 44cm. Geez I love fighting Pigs on light line- I was using 8lb Vanish and no 6 Gamakatsu Pan fish. The bigger Pig gave me a good run for my money, just didn't want to give in. Lost 3 I think, and all in all a productive afternoon, and glorious weather today! P.S- Sorry Pete, I really had not planned on fishing today, but was able to stay later than usual.
