Gid
Hi guys, I would like to ask is there any chance to hook any trout in rivers on summertime.I'm thinking about hike to Kowmung maybe, is it worth or better to choose another time of the year? Also did anybody try Fish or Duckmaloi rivers with any results? Thanks in advance, Gid
dean
Hi Gid, the Fish river around Tarana would be your best bet. You can catch trout through summer if you fish early morning and late in the afternoon, just watch out for snakes there's heaps of them up there at the moment. There's been plenty of rain in the mountains and the rivers are in good condition. Cheers, Dean
mitch
HI mate, I love fishing for trout in the summertime and have been doing it for probably 20 years. I am not sure of where in the blue mountains as I usually chase them further west out around the Orange region. Over the last few years I have found that at this time of yer the most productive lure for me has been the SX40's in natural colours. Slow rolled with a lot of pauses and twitches, I have found the trout will normally charge at the lure and tail slap it before coming back and inhaling it on the pause. Makes for some very exciting visual fishing. If you ever get out that way I'd be happy to share some spots Mitch
