High Tide Flatty Spots On The Hacking

OK guys i'm desperate, I haven't caught a decent fish i way too long.

I am planning on targetting some flathead, drifting and flicking sps (only new to sps) around the high tide on the hacking tomorrow. Anybody got any locations worth a shot to help out a struggler?

i am thinking along the south side of the bar next to main channel (ie just west of the ballast heap). any opinions?

If your landbased try maianbar but with a boat ballast heaps holds lots off flathead might even get some salmon and tailor around there atm

Drift the run in or out along the lilli pilli sand flats near the drop off of the ballast heap (east) along the marker bouys. grab a gulp minnow and throw it out as a set line. Then as the boat drifts flick the lure of your choice up towards the shallow and retrieve into the deep slow. Burraneeer bay drop off the same but dont wait until the tide is moving to fast.

P.s If you are confidant enough, there is not much in the way of swell at the moment so a good chance is off the Cronuula beach any where.

thanks for the tips guys, i didn't end up going out on the hacking because the southerly was up, went land based in wooloware bay and hooked a decent 50cm + flatty in about half a metre of water. got busted off though trying to land him without a net! would have been my first on SPs ...

might try the hacko next weekend
